SCIENCE WEEKLY VOCABULARY

1. STEM. The stem keep the plant in upright position.
2. FLOWER. The flower is the part of the plant with petals.
3. LEAVES. The leaves are the part of the plant that are green because of the chlorophyll.
4. ROOTS. The roots absorb nutrients and water.
5. SEEDS. The seeds are small but very important.
6. SUNLIGHT. The sunlight gives the plant vitamins.
7. PETIOLE. The petiole is the part of the leaf connected to the stem.
8. GRASS. The grass have soft stems and they don´t usually grow very tall.
9. TREES. All trees have a hard, woody stem. their stem is called trunk.
10. TRUNK. The trunk is the stem of the tree.
11. BUSHES. The bushes are short trees. Their branches are very close t the ground.
12. BRANCHES. All trees and bushes have branches but the branches of bushes are thin and close to the ground.
